Fredrikstad Mekaniske Verksted was the center of industry in the Norwegian town of Fredrikstad during the 1900s. The ship building industry bloomed and employed over half of the town’s citizens. The last ship was built in 1988 before the workshop closed the same year. The cranes and the old halls are the very picturesque characteristic of Fredrikstad.

For 36 years, the area has slowly merged with nature, letting the seasons and time paint its own artwork on the buildings. I was allowed access to document the area before it will take new form as a residential and industrial area in future Fredrikstad. The collection was exhibited in 2022 and will be an important piece of history in between old times and new.

The motives are for sale as fine art editions.
